Florida 2-14 CE Requirements
Florida DFS identifies the 2-14 as the resident Life, including Annuities and Variable Contracts, license.
The standard requirement is 24 hours per compliance cycle: 4 hours of 5-214 Law & Ethics and 20 elective hours. Applicable reductions may lower the elective requirement.
Florida DFS identifies 5-214 as the four-hour Life and Annuity update course authority corresponding to Life and/or annuity agents such as 2-14 license holders.
Florida insurance CE generally operates on a two-year compliance cycle. Florida DFS states that licensees comply every two years during their birth month. Your exact due date and current cycle should be confirmed in MyProfile.
Possibly. Florida DFS states that a person licensed for six or more years is eligible for a reduction to 16 elective hours per compliance period. A person licensed for at least 25 years who also holds certain qualifying credentials or education may be eligible for a reduction to 6 elective hours per compliance period. Florida DFS directs eligible licensees to use the applicable reduction process. Your MyProfile record should be used to determine what actually applies to you.

Florida DFS says licensees are responsible for monitoring their own CE completion records.
Florida DFS says required hours may generally be taken online or in a classroom through DFS-approved courses, subject to applicable exceptions.
Not for additional credit within two years. Florida DFS states that the same CE course cannot generally be repeated within a two-year period for CE credit.
The provider has up to 21 days after course completion to report qualifying CE credit to Florida DFS.
Florida DFS advises that late CE compliance can result in enforcement activity. A licensee who qualifies for good cause may be able to request an extension. Otherwise, Florida DFS may issue a Preliminary Notice of CE Non-Compliance after the due date.
